90% of advertisers continue to choose text ads as the most effective channel for their PPC (pay-per-click) advertising campaigns, followed by remarketing ads at 80% and mobile ads at 71%.
This data, taken from Hanapin Marketing's annual study on the state of pay-per-click (PPC) advertising , shows that the power of text ads in AdWords and other search engines is still far from diminishing.
The study gathers anonymous information from hundreds of leading sources in the digital environment and also observes an increase in the use of options such as digital display exchange data ads, programmatic advertising or native ads, which results in a new marketing mix with differentiated channels.
The future of PPC advertising
PPC advertising investments
According to the study, in 2016, the forecasts indicate that conversion rate optimization and social advertising will be the two areas in which PPC investments will have the greatest impact, 75% and 74%, respectively .
However, automation, specialized segmentation and mobile localization are three indicators that are gradually gaining strength.
The study also indicates that although most advertisers did not plan to increase their PPC advertising budgets in 2015, these have increased, a trend that is likely to continue in 2016.
